Bravo, Duffer Brothers!

January 4, 2026 Sammy Ochoa

Whoa. Have y’all seen Stranger Things, Season 5? I honestly think this is the strongest season yet. There is so much emotion, satisfaction, and action in these episodes that I just kept watching until I realized the series was over.

The character development was exceptional, the storyline masterful, and the pieces put together from season one to now are absolutely remarkable. I, as a day 1 fan, could not be more satisfied and fulfilled by the series as a whole.

If you haven’t yet watched the season and series finale, be warned, there are spoilers ahead! And grab your popcorn and frozen Coke and go to Hawkins—what are you waiting for???

Episode 4 was insane! The comedy, the action, the effects, but most of all, I almost rewound, because did I hear Vecna right?

Vecna explains to Will Byers that the reason he is going after children is because “they are weak, weak in both body and mind. They will be very easy to break, mold, and control.”

Whether the Duffer Brothers realized it or not, they spoke with such truth and conviction to their massive audience about what society is doing to our generation.

We are spoon-feeding our children gender roles, ideology, and questions of sexual orientation to process and to choose for themselves at such fragile ages with such innocent hearts—decisions that should never be made.

It’s ironic that when the Stranger Things audience watched as Vecna spoke these chilling words to Will, they gasped in horror, “no, not the children,” but here is society—here we are—doing the same thing.

Society is preying on the children because of this exact reason. Children are easily molded and influenced. Society knows that if they speak in an exciting way they can get kids to sway to a beat they aren’t sure of.

We can face these decisions when we’re older, when we have the capacity to research and to discern for ourselves the righteous path we’re supposed to walk on.

But instead, we are placing it on our children, disguising these worldly views in shows meant for young minds, in commercials—so if the show doesn’t promote it, the commercial will—and through music.

There is no protection nowadays. Vecna—ahem—society, and most importantly, the devil, is getting precisely what he wants. He is trying to raise this next generation to eradicate truth, to blur the line between right and wrong, and erode faith and religion.

But this is real life; there is no Hawkins Lab to destroy, and everything goes back to normal. We are living in a terrifying time where programs disguise themselves as “facts” and “love.”

Darkness has always existed, but the fact that we willingly hand our rising generation screens at such a young age to be molded by what the world throws at them is the problem.

We wonder why our children are confused, anxious, and scared. We wonder why little ones come home from school with questions that no seven-year-old should have. Because just like Mr. Whatsit, the devil so cunningly disguises himself as a gentle man who wants to “help” and make them, their friends, and family “happy.”

While the Duffer Brothers brought a perspective that no recent show or movie has, they still got one thing wrong.

They pushed a message, they proclaimed truth, but then they were coerced into spreading propaganda through beloved characters who further pushed that “loving who you love sets you free,” “coming out is the only way to quiet your demons.”

Listen, I have friends who are gay, I love these people. You can’t tell me that because I disagree with their choices, I can’t love them. But announcing a sexual orientation, acting on impulses and feelings, and tying same-sex attraction to a show that has nothing to do with gender roles, sexual orientation, and adult themes is careless, and a poor way to promote wokeism to our kids.

If Stranger Things can teach us anything, it’s that we as adults have a huge responsibility to the kids of today. Influence is a corrosive culture and a damaging action. Our children can’t escape the truth that they are being influenced in every part of their lives.

The devil is shaping their sweet, developing minds through society, in a way that tricks us to sleep peacefullyat night and are blinded by the threat that we are unknowingly destroying the next generation.

We put too much trust in the writers, directors, and artists of this world to do the raising for us. We sit kids in front of the T.V. to be brainwashed without even listening to the dialouge or watching what the shows are portraying.

There are 10 years old watching shows like Stranger Things, and series much worse dealing with more adult themes. We must stand between our children and the darkness, we must become the filters, and we must take a stand so the world starts to see we don’t participate in the destruction happening.

This isn’t about faith, a political standpoint, or a “listen to me, I’m right, and you’re wrong.” If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that we need a better tomorrow, we need to fight, and we need children to grow up like children again.

Swings.
Apple juice boxes.
Safe shows that talk about kindness, friendship, and family.

Not transgenderism, conforming to the world, gay pride, and adult conversations placed on tiny shoulders.

It starts today—let’s choose courage, discernment, and responsibility, because there are stranger things out there.

I am begging the Duffer Brothers to do better and to think before adding more agendas and propagandas to their brilliant and inspiring shows.
