it rained today...

It rained today… and as I looked up at the rapidly changing sky from a sunny summer sky, to dark blue, to a bright golden, I was reminded of something I read earlier this week.

‘When God created nature, it is important to remember He didn’t step back and let everything happen and forget about it. He is still active in nature. He is still creating nature every day.’

God could have made the animals of the earth, the forests, the oceans, the seasons, and wiped His hands clean. But instead, He remains in the heart of it all.

God orchestrates the dancing raindrops; He knows each leaf that falls off every tree during Autumn, He creates, by Hand, the most minuscule snowflake and the most intricate snowflake. God paints the evening sunrise and sunset that we wake up to and eat dinner to every morning and every night. He blends the pastel hues so carefully yet so perfectly.

God knows each star by name and calls upon them to shine. He feeds each and every sparrow and gives them shelter. He keeps the sun and the moon in the sky and calls on them to give us light.

God is a part of nature in every sense, and in every second, which tells us that he is just as part of our lives in every season, every emotion, and every second.

The number of hairs we have on our head, the tear drops we cry, the laughter that escapes our mouths, the prayers that we send up to him, either from the pews at church or in bed.

God did not make the world and step away. He made the world and stepped into it as the Son of Man and has never left our hearts because He created them just as beautiful, intricate, and deep as the oceans, forests, and sky.

It rained today, and I saw God in the raindrops, the fog that slipped through the trees and over mountain ranges, and the fresh air.
